I am Katja, a passionate movie enthusiast who wants to fulfill her dreams in becoming a professional filmmaker.
My Motivation
Some people have known their dream job for their entire life. I am not one of those people, but I have always been passionate about how movies are made behind the scenes. But I have always been afraid of taking that step and starting my career in the industry.
Two years ago, I experienced a life-changing moment when I watched a Hollywood movie shoot in Vienna up close. I stood in the cold for hours on end, and watched a movie crew work, simply to understand how so many people with different roles can work together that seamlessly. I was in awe of everything and I realized that I had to put matters into my own hand. Just a month later, I was at my first movie shoot as an extra. Since then, I have continued to work towards my goal of finding my way into the movie industry.
My Skills
As a journalism and communications student, I am well acquainted with communications and media theory. But theory only gets you so far. Thus, I completed every available practical seminar at my university relating to media production. This enabled me to work on semi-professional videos and pictures of my own. I took classes where I…

My Background
I am currently in the last semester of my bachelor’s degree in journalism and communications at the University of Vienna. During my studies there, I started to put theory into practice at RHI Magnesita, where I worked in the global department for Corporate Communications and Public Affairs. In 2024, I chose to take a step closer to media and film productions, as I started to work for Frames.Network as a Production Assistant.
